Chicago and
Northwestern GP 18 #1776. C&NW's entry into the pool of
specially-painted locomotives for the Bicentennial in 1976 was their GP18 #1776.
It spent a year or so working it's way around the system being put on display.
If I recall correctly it spent about a week in Madison parked at the south end
of the C&NW yard adjacent to Fordem Avenue, where these pictures were
taken.
